Pokemon Violet IC

Riffraff cried out as a ball of blue fire hit one of his knees. He grabbed it with his free hand, stumbling back slightly. He now glared at the Duskull, with a faint trace of tears coming from his eyes. They did not wash off his painted markings, and were simply resulting from the pain. Riffraff was far from sad. In reality, he was furious. "That's a ghost type, Riffraff doesn't know any moves that will affect it!" Israh whispered sharply to Bernard. She began to brace herself to fight first-hand, when something shocked her.

A long tongue came out of the darkness and roughly smacked the Duskull into the ground, as a shiny Ghastly, surrounded by blue gasses, emerged from the shadows. It flew out and hovered across from the Duskull, seemingly furious. Israh was stunned by this, but suddenly, a feeling, similar to the one she had felt earlier, came over her. She was sure now, that the aura had lured her to this wild pokemon. "He came here to help us." Israh said, partly out of shock, but grateful, as well.

Duskull hit the ground and cringed. The attack had paralyzed him. Purple ghostly electricity arced across him, but he was able to rise one more from the ground.

"Duskull, use night shade!" The Duskull cried out and seemed to grow exponentially in size, then hit the oddly-colored ghastly with a blast of ghost energy which did damage equal to its level. Bernard went to give Lennie a command to take the Duskull out when Shaun withdrew a second Pokeball from his coat and threw it. From out of it came a Koffing, which spewed toxic gasses.

"Sludge bomb, Koffing!" Shaun cried out. The Koffing responded with a massive ball of poisonous muck which splattered all over Nosepass' face. It smelled like year-old garbage. It stumbled back, but regained its balance and swung blindly at the Koffing, who simply floated out of the way.

The Ghastly floated back from the blow, and even though it was hurt, it rebounded. A terrifying glare formed over its face, and it produced an eerie, high-pitched sound, as it used Spite on the Duskull, dramatically reducing how many times it could use the move Night Shade. Then, lightning fast, it began to dance about in the air in a strange way, as its eyes glowed blue. It was using hypnosis.

Meanwhile, seeing the situation with the Koffing, and aware that it was not a ghost-type, Israh turned her sights on it. "Riffraff, use Chip Away on Koffing! But be careful! Hold your breath, don't breathe in the toxic gas!" With this, Riffraff stopped rubbing his knee, and began to unleash a barrage of attacks on the Koffing.

The first strike hit Koffing, but it, being Shaun's best Pokemon, wouldn't go down easily. It floated out of Riffraff's range and poured a column of pure plack smog out of its mouth; smokescreen. The black smog blocked Riffraff's view, and the Koffing floated away from it and began to pelt Lennie with more sludge bombs. The toxic stench wafted up its long nose and choked the big Nosepass, causing it to fall to the ground, unconscious. Duskull instinctively looked away from Ghastly.

"Dark pulse Duskull!" The Duskull spun around quickly and sent a blast of dark energy at the Ghastly.

The Ghastly's eyes widened, as the attack came towards it. Israh was the only one to see what was happening through the haze. Dark Pulse was a dark-type move. It was incredibly dangerous for a ghost-type. Without knowing why, Israh found herself calling out a command, as she squinted through the smokescreen, "Ghastly! Dodge it, then use Lick!" The Ghastly suddenly sank below the dark pulse, and then seemed stunned that it had obeyed. Regardless, it appeared to decide to listen, and used lick. It lashed out lightning fast, and landed another blow on the Duskull with its tongue. Then, on it's own free will, it began using hypnosis again, hoping this time the Duskull would look.

"Riffraff, come to me! Follow my voice!" Israh continued, looking into the smokescreen that was thicker. "Come on!" The Cubone charged out until he was by her feet. She got down on her knees, and whispered to it, "Okay, Lennie's out cold, we have to make this count. Use Growl and Tail Whip. Distract Duskull, make it look at you, so Ghastly can fight it!" With this, the Cubone nodded. He dashed out next to the Ghastly, and growled at the Duskull. He also began to hop around in a manner that was clearly his own idea. Whatever the reason, it made it hard to focus on anything else.

The Duskull turned to look at Riffraff and stared at it for a moment, perplexed. This strategy he had never seen before.

"Duskull you fool!" Shaun yelled. Before the Duskull realized, it met Ghastly's eyes, and hit the ground, asleep. Shaun grew tired of this. "Time to end this fight!" he said angrily "Koffing, use explosion on that Cubone! Get ready Cheshire!" The Koffing flew at the Cubone, and, just before it reached it, cried out and violently exploded in a mushroom cloud that could be seen from the lab. The noise was ear splitting, and travelled all the way into town, inciting a panic in the new recruits. Draco rose from where he was squatting, the Dratini in his arms. Hearing the explosion and seeing the panic, he decided to do the stupid thing and run to the explosion to see what was going on. The professor jumped and ran outthe door as well, Cyril right behind him.

Israh screamed as she shielded her eyes and was battered by debris the explosion scattered, but somehow managed to avoid being knocked out. When the dust had cleared sufficiently enough for her to look, her eyes widened with horror. "Riffraff!" She charged out and picked up the Cubone. Somehow, he hadn't been knocked out, but he was hurt far too severely to keep on fighting. The Ghastly, concerned, floated close by, unaffected by the explosion, due to it being a ghost-type. She looked up, and saw that the Spirit Tower had somehow survived. Where the Koffing had exploded, there was a fresh crater. The Lost Tower, miraculously, seemed completely unscathed. When Israh looked back down, however, she saw that Riffraff was far from okay. The Cubone staggered, and collapsed, unable to move, although he tried to. Israh ran over, and quickly picked him up, hugging him close. He was badly battered, but somehow, he was still conscious. Despite this, Israh knew he could not fight anymore. His energy was completely spent.

He made a weak sound, and looked at her, disappointment in his eyes. "I'm not ashamed of you, Riffraff. You practically battled an entire army, and still didn't give up. I'm proud of you." She said to him. A few tears came, but Riffraff still stoically remained silent. The Ghastly drifted over, and made a sound of agreement. Israh looked at him, "I can't thank you enough. You didn't know us, but you helped, anyway." With this, Israh got to her feet, looking as though she had gone through a war zone, and looked around for Shaun and his Aipom. She didn't want to be attacked again, but she knew he was probably still somewhere in the area. "Where are you...?" Israh murmured to herself. The wild Ghastly floated nearby, scanning the area also. They were bracing for any ambush that might be posed to them. She also looked around and spotted the other trainer and Lennie. She ran over, the Ghastly following. "Are you okay?" The way she said it didn't sound panicked, but it did sound angry, and it was obvious that she was furious with what had been done to Riffraff.

Bernard slowly rose from the dirt, feeling the fresh burn marks on his back.

"Um, ouch?" he muttered to himself. He grabbed Lennie's Pokeball from where it lay in the dirt, and clipped it to his belt. He then rushed over to Isra and examined the badly injured Cubone. He touched it on the arm. Third degree burns at least from a combination of will-o-wisp and the explosion. SHaun was nowhere in sight. Bernard shuffled through his bag and pulled out a bottle of purple medicine, which he poured on Riffraff. Immediately, the medicine began to heal his injuries. He then followed the potion up with a green burn heal, which cured the burns.

"That's better." he said "Do you have a re-" Bernard was silenced by a smack to the back of the head. he cried out in pain and fell forward, an angry-looking Aipom now sitting on his head. Shaun stood a few feet away, an evil smile on his face.

"Finish them, Cheshire! Payback!" Aipom's hands glowed a dar purple, and it began to slash at Bernard, Riffraff, Ghastly, and Isra.

But, before it could land a hit, the Aipom was knocked through the air by a long, blue Dratini. Before it could recover, it was struck again, faster than the eye could see.

"Cheshire! Counter!" Aipom glowed red and the next time the Dratini hit with Extremespeed, it fell back, in pain.

"Thunder wave Dratini!" Draco yelled. Blue electricity shot towards Aipom, but it dodged and ran straight at it.

"Cheshire! Scratch!" Cheshire slashed Dratini across the face, and it fell over.

"Um, uh, outrage!" The Dratini tried to use the deadly attack, but instead let loose some sort of tiny shock wave, knocking itself over. "Oh, you can't use that yet..."

"You silly boy! Finish this, Cheshire! Payback!" Dratini barely swerved out of the way of the attack and slithered a goot distance away, trying to recuperate.

Israh was startled when Riffraff jumped out of her arms, and ran towards the Aipom. Before she could react, he hit the pokemon over the head with his bone, with considerable force. "That was Bone Club!" Israh exclaimed, suddenly finding her voice. Riffraff danced back and readied himself for another set of commands. "Riffraff, quick, Use Bone Club followed by Chip away! Defend Dratini!"

"That'll be $764,100." The female clerk said, smiling.

"Here." Red said, pushing the cash to the woman.

The Woman smiled and passed Red the items he had bought.

A backpack, first off, allowing him to store and hold more stuff. Red placed it on the ground and opened it, getting it ready to hold items. "Here, let me help you with that." The clerk said, scooping up all of Red's items and placing them on the floor next to him. "Just let me know if you need anything else." the clerk chimed, and went back to her post.

First, several pokeballs. He would need them. Poke, Great, Ultra, a few premier balls, and a single-lone luxury ball. He would need them all on his journey. Second were the medicines. Antidotes for poison, Paralyze-heals, Awakenings, Burn heals, some Ice heals, Ethers and elixers both normal and max, along with a full score of every potion, and even some revives. Then came the big stuff. One hundred plus Max repels and ten escape ropes, along with a folding bicycle and the collapsable Super Rod, and food for the both of them.

"OH! I nearly forgot!" the Clerk said, running over. "This is a gift. You'll need this om your journey." she said, handing him a town map. Red gingerly took it from her hands and opened it, looking it over.

Yes, it would be useful.

"Thank... You..." Red said, looking up to the Clerk. She smiled, and patted him on the back. "Time to get going, there's a whole world out there for you to see."

And with that, Red left the store.

"Craw!" the Deino said running up to his friend.

Red kneeled down, and picked up the lizard as it ran to him hugging it.

"We're finally going" he said, he then held the Deino at arms length. "Would you like to be my first partner?"

"Craw!"

Red smiled, and took the luxury ball from his pack, and held it open. "I dont feel right throwing it at you." He said, and smiled slightly. The Deino smiled too, and brought it long neck towards the ball, touching it with it's noes and being enveloped in a red light, and being turned into pure red energy.

The luxury ball wiggled once, twice, three times, before releasing a light "Ding!" signifying that the pokemon was caught.

Red stood up, smiling at his friend.

"Come on out Thanatos!" Red cried, holding his arm out and releasing the Deino again. It ran around in a circle for a few seconds before letting out a light cry and running to Red to hug his leg.

Now they had officially began their journey.

Now, all Red had to go was find a worthy sparring partner for Thanatos before they began to train.

And then, it was all cake.


"Lets see..." Red said, taking out the map. "I heard that the girl with the Cubone was going to Lost Tower, I also saw that red haired kid leave soon after. Wanna go see how they're doing?" Red said, looking down to the Deino. "Craw!" the Deino cooed, agreeing. "Well, hop in." Red said, opening his backpack and placing it on the ground for the Deino to climb in. Once the little lizard was in, Red placed the backpack back on and got out his bike, unfolding it, and hopping on, biking off in the direction that the map indicated.


One Bike Ride Later...


As he arrived, he noticed a the two being attacked by another trainer.

"Thanatos, begin to focus your energy and when you reach your peak, jump out of my pack and get ready to provide cover fire with a dragon rage. Think you can do that?" the Deino in his backpack growled in confirmation, and began to focus its energy, gaining strength with every second. Soon, Red pulled around next to Draco, and Deino jumped out of his pack. "Now!" Red yelled, and the Deino released a shockwave of pure rage into the Aipom. Because he had been focusing his energy, Thanatos' attack was a critical hit, doubling the attack power. (So this attack would've done 80 points of damage). Sending the Aipom back to it's owner.

Red hoped off his bike, and gave another order to the Deino.

"Thanatos, focus your power again and prepare dark pulses in order to defend the Dratini and Cubone. Dont let them get hurt!"

Aipom took the Dragon Rage to the head, sending him flying back through air air. Before he could hit the ground, he was absorbed back into his Pokeball in a blast of red energy. Shaun looked at the Deino incredulously, and grabbed a small black ad purple ball from out of his pocket.

"Good fight. We shall see each other again someday!" Shaun threw the ball on the ground and it exploded in a blast of purple smoke. When the smoke cleared, he was gone. The Professor walked up a few moments later, Cyril running by his side. Draco smiled and picked up his Dratini, who was dizzy from the attempted outrage. Bernard slowly rose from dirt and clutched his head. The professor looked around at the Pokemon and trainers. He frowned a moment, and then mae a straight face. He had a greta idea.

"I need all of you to come to my lab immediately!" he said. Draco made a nervous look and followed the Professor as he turned on his heel and began to slowly walk back towards the lab at a leisurely pace.

"Thanatos, return." Red said, but did not take out the Deino's luxury ball, instead, the Deino ran back up and jumped into Red's backpack again with only it's front legs and neck sticking out. Red ground his teeth in frustration. That professor said he couldn't use Deino as his starter, didn't he? Oh well. Perhaps he had changed his mind. Red hopped back onto his bike, and rode back the way he came, overtaking Draco and the Professor rather quickly because of the bike itself.


He reached the lab before anyone else, and took the time to refold up his bike and set it back into his backpack. The Deino had already gotten into a chocolate bar.

Useless reptile.

Red gave a casual flick to the Deino's noes as a punishment, but otherwise patted the reptile on the head. "Good job on that fight. Managing a move like that was impressive. I think we made a good first impression on not only that grunt, but our rivals as well. I'm proud of you."

Israh began to follow, with Riffraff and the wild Ghastly close behind. Even though she and her pokemon were no longer in danger, she still felt threatened. The nature of how the battle had ended had been sudden, and it was hard to imagine that she was no longer at risk of being attacked. She did not say anything, for fear of acting upon the deep, sullen anger she felt. Team Rocket's boss had tried to recruit her, and had lied to her face, right there in the presence of the dead. Worse, he had defiled their graves and disturbed their peaceful slumber, by committing such treacherous acts. She gripped the strap of her purse more tightly, clenching her teeth. Next time, she wouldn't let him go so easily, if he ever worked up the nerve to show his face ever again.

When the Professor arrived at the lab, he parted the crowd like the Red Sea and told the others to follow him. He walked back behind the stage and through a set of steel double doors, into a bleach white room with tile flooring and several odd-looking machines lining the walls. At the very end was a large contraption that took the whole back wall up. In it were several Pokedexes, plugged into the machine as if charging. He turned and waited for the others to walk in. Cyril stood next to him nervously while Bernard leaned over Draco's shoulder, applying a cloth drenched in super potion to the scrape on Dratini's head.

Israh entered the room with Riffraff through the door, while the Ghastly phased through the wall, still following them, even though there wasn't a particular reason for doing so. All the while, Israh still remained eerily silent, although her anger was exerted as though it were a physical force. She had finally calmed down enough to unclench her jaw, and believed she could now speak without saying something wrong. Normally, she wouldn't have spiraled into such negativity, but the conditions under which she did so were special. Even so, she gazed at the wall of Pokedexes with curiosity.

Red eyed the a White and black pokedex. It looked crome, the majority of the cover white, with a pokeball in the center. The only difference between it and normal pokeballs was that it had a black top rather than a red one.


It just looked cool.


Thanatos, being a Deino, was blind, so he couldn't really help him judge.

"So, Professor, what's this?"


(Short post, sue me.)

The professor smiled and several of his scientist gathered around in a half circle. Cyril stepped back next to the others, and Bernard finished healing Dratini.

"I'm glad you asked that, my boy!" Professor Toron said happily "You see, seeing you fine ladies and gentlemen battling so hard out there against such a powerful enemy. I was inspired right then and there to do this. You see, I am becoming advanced in age, as are many of the other professors in the Pokemon World. Professor Oak retired, along with Professor Rowan, and I am not far off." he looked up for a moment, and took a deep breath. This was not the time to shed tears.

"So," he continued "I have decided to find a few capable trainers to face the Pokemon League and one day, perhaps, become the next generation of Professors! And you, my friends, you brave ladies and gentlemen, have been chosen for this task! Each of you will receive a trainer card and a Pokedex to begin your journeys. I want you all to search the Sinnoh region, using these devices to catalogue every Pokemon you meet in Sinnoh! I want you all to challenge the Pokemon league, and become master trainers, each and every one of you! I'm counting on all five of you to fulfill this task for me; to have this great adventure!" Cyril's heart jumped.

"I'm sorry, sir, but did you say five?" Cyril asked.

"Did I stutter, Cyril?" Professor Toron asked the boy, smiling serenely. "Yes. I have decided to let you go on your own adventure as well! It's about time you left the nest, my dear boy!" Cyril beamed and Professor Toron stepped aside.

"Now, ladies and gentlemen!" he began "Pick your Pokedexes!"

And with that, the adventure began.

Red reached for the white and black one, taking it in his hands, and unflipped the cover.


"Deino, the Irate Pokemon. Deino tends to bite everything, and it is not a picky eater. Approaching it carelessly is dangerous."

"Well that suits you."

"CRAW!"

"Dratini, the Dragon Pokemon. Dratini is called the "Mirage Pokémon" because so few have seen it. Its shed skin has been found."

"Heh."


Two pseudo legendary pokemon basics in the first ten seconds, not a bad start, not a bad start at all. "Let's head Thanatos, we have a long journey ahead of us." Red said, reaching back and patting the Deino on the head. It cooed and then disappeared into Red's backpack, most likely to sleep.

Draco slowly walked up the the machine, struck with awe. It was actually happening. he was going to become a Pokemon Trainer! His hand shook as he reached down onto the machine and grabbed a blue and gold Pokedex from the machine. He flipped it open and scanned Dratini with it.

Dratini the machine said The Dragon Pokemon. It is called the “Mirage Pokémon" because so few have seen it. Its shed skin has been found. The machine then said Deino, the Irate Pokemon. Lacking sight, it's unaware of its surroundings, so it bumps into things and eats anything that moves. Draco looked over at red and his Deino, and laughed. It seemed like that Deino would eat anything. He walked over to Red slowly, the Dratini now across his shoulders.

"Hey," he said slowly "My name's Draco. That's quite a Pokemon you have there! Sure saved my butt!" he blushed and scratched the back of his head innocently.

Cyril walked up tentatively to the machine which he had tended so many times before. He grabbed a plain red Pokedex from the machine and flipped it open. He beamed uncontrollably, and a tear of joy dripped down onto the screen. Finally, he would be able to have his own adventure instead of staring into others' through the fogged-up windows of his room in the lab. Finally, he would be able to have his own story.

After choosing her pokedex, which was a simple metallic blue color, with no designs or ornamentation whatsoever, Israh left the lab. In all truth, she knew a lot about pokemon without the device aiding her. She knew that a Ghastly was sometimes believed to be from an alternate dimension, and she knew that a Cubone saw its mother embodied in the moon. Once out of the lab, she walked into the woods, Riffraff by her side. The Ghastly followed close behind, with a strange look on his face. It took Israh a few moments to realize he was still there, as she had thought he would have returned to the Lost Tower by now. She turned around to acknowledge it for the first time since the battle.

"Before the fight, I felt something draw me to the Lost Tower. I never know what the aura will lead me to, and I have seen many things, because of it. Horrible tragedies, and beautiful miracles alike. The aura pulled me there, and I was sure I would soon find where it led, but then Team Rocket interfered, and disturbed it. I thought I had lost the trail, but fate works in mysterious ways. I feel it, in my heart, that the energy has connected us. When you fought for us, alongside me, I knew for sure, that the aura had led me to you. Even now, you still follow me, even though you no longer have a reason." Israh said.

The Ghastly met her eyes, and something was exchanged, but nobody could be sure of what it was. There was one language that was shared by all things, and that was the language of silence. In that moment, the Ghastly and Israh connected on a deep spiritual level, that could only be understood by one who spoke without words. In that moment, Ghastly decided something. Without speaking, Israh pulled a black Pokeball with blue markings from her purse. With a jar and brush withdrawn as well, she painted a blue spiraling triangle on the pokemon's forehead. Even though it was a Ghost pokemon, the paint was special, and still touched it, as though it were physical. "You are like me, a follower of the Aura, and a brother in spirit. I name you Wraith, and with these markings, join you to my family."

With this, Israh touched the black pokeball to Wraith's head, and it opened. He spiraled into it in a flash of energy, and the pokeball snapped shut, locking instantly. Wraith did not struggle. He had chosen this path on his own free will. Once this happened, Israh held the pokeball close to her heart. This had been done by many who came before her, by ancient people and modern alike. The trainer did not always choose their pokemon. Israh's family understood this. The Pokemon chose whom they joined, and both accepted their path. It was the way the world of humans and pokemon should be.

As Cyril was looking down at his Pokedex, something caught the corner of his eye. Leaving the room was a girl about his age, who was wearing what looked like a parka. Through a mirror, he saw her face which, though it was covered in what looked like the inside of a child's coloring book, was beautiful. Even with the weird facial marking, she was easily the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. He found himself blushing red as a beet, and Ditto laughed hysterically at him.

"Shut up!" he said, slapping the Ditto on the cheek. "I should go talk to her." he muttered to himself. Before even think about how stupid he was being, Cyril was standing on the porch, watching the beautiful girl capture a blue Ghastly in an almost ceremonial ritual. He walked up slowly after her little ritual, and tapped her on the shoulder. That's when it hit him; what in Arceus' name was he doing? He knew how bad he was around women from prior experience, and became a nervous wreck around them. Especially beautiful ones such as this young lady. Instead of saying "hi", he ended up stuttering out "um....uh....hey there....uh...." He thought for a moment. What was his name? He had forgotten his own name! I'm losing my mind! he thought as he stood there, blushing like an idiot.

Israh frowned, raising her left eyebrow, "Start over, what are you trying to say?" she asked, feeling somewhat embarrassed for him to a small degree. When she was little, she had been known to her parents to possess a bad habit of talking too fast when excited about something. When she spoke too quickly, Israh would typically trip over words and mispronounce them. It was quite comical to most observers, but truly humiliating for her personally. Israh was known to possess an extensive vocabulary, and she didn't like to squander words by mispronouncing their sounds. It wasn't too hard to tell that this guy was embarrassed. His face had turned as red as a Cheri berry.

Red turned to Draco surprised that someone struck up a conversation with him. "I'm sure you would've found a way out of it on your own." he said simply, giving a small smile, before walking a few steps outside of the building.


"GRAWR!"

Red looked to the sky to see a green streak moving through the air at an insanely fast pace. He took out his pokedex and held it to the sky. It began to search for a few seconds, this green streak was nearly out of range now.

"Rayquaza, the Sky High Pokemon."

'No. Way.' Red thought, looking incredulously at the pokedex.

"Rayquaza lived for hundreds of millions of years in the earth's ozone layer, never descending to the ground. It is said it would descend to the ground if Kyogre and Groudon were to fight."

Red stared at the screen for a few seconds, before looking up to the sky. A fading roar could he heard in the distance, but the green streak... Was gone. "Craw!" the Deino chirped, sticking it's head out of his backpack. "This stays between you and me. Nobody else can know about this." Red said, sternly. Because he had only registered two pokemon, now three, if Deino brought someone his pokedex, finding Rayquaza would be fairly easy. Then people would be after him for information.

Information he didn't want to give.

"Shoot!" Red said, turning back around. "I forgot to get my trainer card!" He said, and went back into the building. Nodding to Drago and he passed him, and went straight to the professor. "Esxcuse me, Professor,I forgot to get a trainers card."

The Professor walked over to a large white printer and hit a button, causing it to print out a red trainer card with a picture of Red on it. He handed it to Red and then turned around to examine the Pokedex machine, which was lighting up green.

"What the..." He looked at the text the machine displayed, and smiled "No way! Pidgeot!" Professor Toron threw a pokeball and from out of it came a large Pidgeot with what looked like a camera around its neck. The Professor whispered in its ear, and it flew through the halls and outside, following the green streak but not nearly fast enough to catch it.

Draco nervously shifted and picked his own trainer card up, then looked back up at Red.

"So," he said "how did you get so good at battling?"

"Well... Its not the first time I've battled... Thanatos here has been my unofficial partner in crime for years now. Its really just about using moves and abilities to power up. Come on out Thanatos." Red said, and the Deino jumped out of Red's backpack, sitting on his shoulder.

"See, Deino's ability is hustle, making it even more powerful when attacking. Then, couple that with the move focus energy which helps Deino strike weak points harder. You add all tht together with a dragon rage and you could get a move that could knock out even some of the higher level pokemon because of Deino's high special attack." As Red explained this, the little Deino was wagging it's little tail. Happy to be getting so much attention and praise.

"What about your Dratini? I heard you tell it to use outrage. Thats one powerful attack."

Red grabbed his trainer card and smiled. Now he was ready.
